Our History
Music & Arts Program for Youth, Inc. (M.A.P. for Youth) was established in 2012 by Bill and Wilma Rogers with a mission to inspire, educate, and empower young people through the transformative power of music, arts, and creative learning experiences.

Since its founding, M.A.P. for Youth has worked to expand access to high-quality enrichment opportunities that support the academic, social, and emotional development of youth. Through engaging programs that incorporate music, storytelling, visual arts, and creative exploration, the organization helps young people develop confidence, creativity, collaboration skills, and a lifelong love of learning.

M.A.P. for Youth serves Alachua County and neighboring states. M.A.P. for Youth has a proven history of engaging approximately 500 young learners annually through creative educational programming, with expanding capacity to reach 700 children each year through partnerships with Alachua County Schools and community partners. The organization is leveraging this experience to extend its impact through The Willie Word Show, a free early literacy and vocabulary-focused digital learning resource for young children and families. By bringing arts-integrated learning into educational and community settings, the organization creates opportunities for young people to discover their talents, strengthen their skills, and envision new possibilities for their futures.

Over the years, M.A.P. for Youth has expanded its programming to include innovative educational initiatives that combine creativity, literacy, and youth development. These efforts reflect the organization’s commitment to ensuring that children and families have access to inspiring learning experiences that promote curiosity, self-expression, and achievement.

Today, M.A.P. for Youth continues to build on its foundation of creative education by developing programs that meet the evolving needs of children, families, and communities. Through initiatives such as Sound Futures and Beat the Odds, the organization remains dedicated to helping young people learn, grow, and thrive.
